Our house has been turned upside down by our bundle of fun, our new pug puppy arrival, we are crazy about her.She is 8 wks. old and her name is Madison. However breaking her in is causing us a few problems.
Pugs do have a bit of a temper and you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her as I have done on one or two instances. She is never left alone; she has someone around her at all times
Our little pug has days that she whines, goes to the door and the whole nine yards. Our little treasure craves attention 24/7 and she knows that the pooch pad is the place to receive it, so if she wants our approval she waddles over to it as quickly as possible
We are doing everything we are suppose to do to help in this process. Then there are days like yesterday where she won't go to the door or the puppy pad.Sometimes we take her out and she does nothing and waits until she comes back inside, but because we love her so much we just grin and bear it, we know we will sort it out at some stage, we know it isn't her fault but probably our training methods which are rubbish
My husband suggested we bring her to a vet in the hope of finding a solution as pug dogs have been known to get tapeworms. Her diet has remained the same since the day we got her and she never gets tidbits as a friend of mine said that was the worst thing to do
I thought I came across an article recently that claimed that puppies are notorious for forgetting everything they have learned. She gets to go outside every 2 hours or so no matter how much water she has consumed.
She manages to last eight to ten hours depending on how long she sleeps for,A few weeks ago I left the door open so she could go to the toilet on her pug dog pad but that was a failure.Just the other day a pair of my husbands trousers were on the floor and she decided that would be a great place to go to the toilet, he wasn't impressed
We never raise our voice at our pet just simply take her out and tell her to go on the grass. Can you help us.Are we confusing her with outside and the pad.I cant imagine what we have done wrong so that she is so confused.Any help would be appreciated. What can we do to set her on the straight and narrow so that she is properly housetrained.
